HEARING AIDS-THE RETAIL PRICING METHOD-ABOUT TO CHANGE-NO MORE BUNDLING-NOW-HEARING AID PLUS HOURLY

I have been trying to determine why Hearing Aids have been sold as a Commodity and all the services involved in the testing,fitting,and consulting,in the sale of a Hearing Aid, have all been included in the sales price of the Hearing Aid.

Evidently, the reason Hearing Aids have been sold the way they are, where all the services involved in the sale of a hearing aid are included in the retail price of the hearing aids, in other words, bundled, is because of tradition and custom.

Evidently there are no existing laws to prevent hearing aids to be sold at a particular, or any price, and then a fee charged for the other services involved in the fitting of a hearing aid.

In my opinion, the correct way for hearing aids to be sold is to charge for the professional services separately.

What this will amount to, is that a Particular Brand and Model of a Hearing Aid, will be offered at a particular price.

This practice will be good for the consumer in that they will be able to determine what the price of the hearing aid is and what are the individual charges for professional services.

What this will divulge is that some Hearing Aid Dispensers, whatever their other titles are, want as much as $2,000 per hour for their professional services.

The Consumer will have the opportunity to determine whether they want to spend $50.00 per hour for Services, or $2,000 per hour, or any amount in between.

It will eliminate the deception in thinking that some particular Brand or Model of Hearing Aid, is the reason that the prices are so high.

It is the best thing that could happen in the Hearing Aid Industry.
